BRAIN BOOST is a FREE monthly “brown bag” lunch & learn event designed to build expertise, catapult the success of small businesses, and ensure equitable access to a wealth of knowledge. Topics aim to leave you better able to work and grow your business or career: from mission statements to marketing strategy, branding to business structure, riding out the rough times, and more. It’s a mash-up of an educational talk and a mastermind group, meant to spark inclusive conversation and circulate the abundant knowledge within Frederick’s small biz community.

BUSINESS & BREWS is the fun, fast, and fulfilling way to network. Held as a quarterly fundraiser for this and the other programs offered by the Cowork Frederick Foundation, the event offers a twist on networking that aims to avoid the transactional feel of typical business card exchanges and help those not fond of “networking” to make solid connections with others. With up-front, icebreakers, clever ways to help people identify things they have in common, true one-on-one speed dating, a happy hour, and some follow-up, we think we’ve come up with one of the best ways to connect with other local freelancers and small biz owners.
HEADSHOT DAY offers deeply discounted headshots by a local, professional photographer once a year. We handle all scheduling and promotion, and guarantee the photographer a minimum fee for the day. That, and some funding through sponsors, allows us to offer a significantly discounted rate to you. Your headshot may create your future client’s, employer’s, or business partner’s first impression of you. It should be high quality. And, it should look like you – now, not five years ago.
WINTER WONDERLAND GALA is our annual event for freelancers, small biz owners, and remote workers who would otherwise miss out on a holiday party. It’s a “proper party”, held at a downtown Frederick venue decorated with a winter wonderland theme. With food, drink, music, dancing, and a fundraiser raffle with some pretty sweet prizes, there’s something for just about everyone. Best of all, it’s a great way to meet some really great people.
