June Artist of the Month
“Noelani Jones”
Noelani Jones creates textiles woven by hand and dyed with nature. She focuses on functional works of art made from handwoven cloth with natural materials. The colors and textures engage the viewers realtionship to art and the natural world. Her work highlights human dependence on nature, and strives to restore our relationship to the land. Noelani’s dedication to creating sustainable works of art with ethically sourced materials is deeply felt. “The land feeds me and my weaving and dyeing practices,” she says.

All work is for sale. All sale proceeds go to the artist.

About the Artist
Born and raised on the island of O’ahu, Noelani Jones was inspired by the beautiful ecosystem of the island. As a native Hawai’ian, her cultural values tie her to the land, earth, and community. Especially the value of “kuleana” (responsibility to the land) and “malama” (taking care of the earth and community). Today, she is a community-building Fiber Artist passionate about strengthening communities and individuals with art and an appreciation for the natural world.
