WHO WE ARE

Founded in 2019, the Cowork Frederick Foundation is the community-supported, non-profit arm of Cowork Frederick. We help Frederick County freelancers and entrepreneurs be more successful by creating ways for them to connect, learn, and build better businesses–and lives–together.

OUR VISION

One touch of nature makes the whole world kin

Better businesses–and lives–together.

We see a future where together we have reshaped our economy and society through social entrepreneurship and innovation, bringing people from diverse professions and backgrounds together to build a more human-scale, networked, and sustainable economy.

The Foundation plays a role in this by sponsoring programs that tap into and enhance the strength and diversity of our local community of freelancers, small biz entrepreneurs, and independent workers and helps spread the benefits of that community to all.

OUR BELIEFS

One touch of nature makes the whole world kin

Collaboration | Innovation | Diversity | Autonomy

WE BELIEVE collaboration and innovation are the keys to turning challenges into opportunities to improve our communities and our planet.

WE BELIEVE collaboration and innovation thrive in a free and open environment. We must break down walls to end isolation, see beyond status quo, cooperate more, and learn from each other.

WE BELIEVE the way we work must become more autonomous and flexible, with people independently pursuing their craft, choosing when, where, how, and with whom they work.

WE BELIEVE together we can reshape our economy and society through social entrepreneurship and innovation.

WE BELIEVE the actions of every individual matter and contribute to our overall benefit (or demise), but by coming together and pooling our ideas and resources we are stronger, more innovative, more able to meet the challenges before us, more able to have a positive impact and make a better world for all of us.
