Karen Peacock & Mary Weiss-Waldhorn

February 2024 Artist of the Month

“Above and Below”

Karen Peacock describes herself as “allergic to minimalism” and her lives by the motto “more is more.” Her mixed media skyscapes on canvas feature layers of paint, paper, cloth and other ephemera. Her work is complemented by the abstracted photographs of water on metal by Mary Weiss-Waldhorn. Together these artists give us a unique perspective on the world above and below.

Frederick Artists Night – February 3, 3-7 pm

The Cowork Frederick Foundation is the community-supported, non-profit arm of Cowork Frederick. We help Frederick County freelancers, remote workers, and solopreneurs be more successful by creating ways for them to connect, learn, and build better businesses – and lives – together. In so doing, we support a vital part of a healthy, growing, fluid, free-market economy. Help support our efforts here.

Frederick Artists Night is an event that celebrates local (Frederick County) creativity with an art exhibit and reception and live music on the First Saturday of each month. The event is sponsored by the Cowork Frederick Foundation. All proceeds from art sales to go the artist. To support this event, go here.
